Manchester United players rating after playing Northampton FC

Sergio Romero 4 ? Sorry but I don?t like him being in goal. He just fills me with fear.
Surprised that wasn?t a penalty in the first
half when he came rushing out. Timothy Fosu-Mensah 5 ? So unlucky not to score but defensively switched off at times,
especially for Northampton?s equaliser.
     Chris Smalling 6 ? Powerful in the air against Revell who was a real handful and
that really limited Northampton but played
his part in that woeful defending which led
to their equaliser. However, overall he was
solid.
        Daley Blind 5.5 ? Looked so comfortable until he gave away the penalty after some
calamitous defending from United. Marcos Rojo 4.5 ? Hoskins was having the best of him for the whole first half. Some
decent crosses but didn?t look up before
hitting them. Morgan Schneiderlin 5.5 ? Played a bit further forward than normal which he
seemed to enjoy but had some lapse passes.
Played a key role in our second goal but
overall didn?t do much. Michael Carrick 8 ? It is still hard to believe it?s not Scholes.
Beautiful finish for Man United?s first. Surely in the starting XI to face
Leicester City now because we don?t have a
midfielder who can control a game better
than him.
       Ander Herrera 7.5 ? He was cracking tonight. Always made himself available for
the pass. Came alive in the second half;
unlucky not to score with one belting effort
but buried another to put United back in
front. Thoroughly enjoy watching him play. Memphis Depay 5 ? Pretty quiet in the first half because of Northampton?s deep line.
Was never able to break them down but at
least looked confident. Ashley Young 6 ? Some good crosses from Young but Northampton defended really
deep so was hard to break down. Wayne Rooney 4.5 ? Missed an open goal from six yards out early on and looked
completely lost against League One
opposition. What more can you say? Substitutes Zlatan Ibrahimovic 6 ? Made a difference in giving us a bit more presence but was
pretty much a bystander. Marcus Rashford 8 ? Always adds something doesn?t he? Set up our second goal and got
the third because he chased it down.
Wonderful player, wonderful cameo. Marouane Fellaini 5 ? Fellaini is as Fellaini does. Added size helped scare Northampton
off the long balls.
