Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) is in total disorder

SLFA in shambles

Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) is in total disorder as the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) meshed the snooty FA president alongside two of her executive members

The arrest of madam Isha Johansen, her Secretary General Christopher Kamara and vice president Brima Mazola Kamara reportedly took place in 19:00GMT past Wednesday at the FA Secretariat in Kingtom, Freetown

Critics are however concerned that the arrest came in the wake of Isha's immense campaign to restore peace in the football association, after spending three years of her four year term with an invariable crack amongst members of the association

Sometimes in two years, few distressed members of the FA have accused the executive under the belt of Isha of indiscriminate misappropriation of the association's funds from FIFA for the attention of ACC to institute an active investigation in the FA on their claims

Official statement by Deputy Outreach of ACC Patrick Sandi indicates that the commission earlier conducted a latent investigation on the alleged embezzlement, inviting both Isha and Christopher in two detailed letters, but they stubbornly responded crudely in acknowledgement

However, the capture and detainment of Isha and her members came just  in time of Operation Thunderbolt, an act introduced recently by ACC in an effort to steer and bring to justice escapees who are allegedly involved in corrupt acts which is of interest to the ACC

It is unbelievable that Isha and her members were refused bale after failing a bale condition of five hundred million Leones among others and therefore, spent one night in police detention at the CID in Freetown, following her arrest on Wednesday

The arrest is also measured to the fact that they allegedly contravened ACC Act, section ten-one which stipulate that accused persons must comply with the commission upon their invitation, and section 130 (1) for failing to obey

Other arguments suggests that the ACC does not have the mandate to interrogate the FA on their financial operations, as FIFA frowns heavy at the involvement of government into any FA affairs

The ACC appears to be aware of FIFA concerns but they believe that it is their prime duty to monitor and protect any funds reserved for public services in the country and therefore, not bothered about how FIFA could react on their action

Over the years and most recently, FIFA was implicated in huge corruption scandal despite the constant denial of former president Sepp Blatter that eventually led to his hasty resignation as Infatinno is now poised to restore the damaged reputation of FIFA

The FA has however refused to put out any statement on the account and there is every likelihood that madam Isha and her members are going to spend additional night in police custody due to the stiff bale condition

It is now debated that the stark reality of the situation shows that the much anticipated peace in the country's football is still farfetched where plenty mischief overshadows the prevalence of football activities in Sierra Leone
